This year, two new bulls, both from the Cantal region, join the AUBRAC AURIVA range: URIOS and VERSAILLES. Born at Herv\u00e9 Deconquand’s EARL de la Boyle, URIOS is the fruit of a long selection process carried out in the Cantal mountains. First set up in 2006 with his parents, Herv\u00e9 now manages a herd of 65 mothers on 120 ha of natural meadows, the majority of which are located at altitudes of over 1,300 m. The farm relies on a simple diet of mountain hay and minerals. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The herd is rigorously managed: 90% of calvings are concentrated between December 15 and January 30, 80% of cows are inseminated, including 10-20% of AI crosses with YPERIOS Exc to enhance the value of Aubrac flowering heifers. Every year, several males and females are sold for breeding, including one male presented at the station. <\/p>

Our selection objectives are clear: breed quality, milk and muscle development, with a homogeneous herd and docile animals. ” Above all, we’re looking for animals that are compact, deep and functional<\/em>,” explains Herv\u00e9. <\/p>

URIOS perfectly illustrates this strategy. Son of RAMSES (MIGNARD\/CAPORAL), a compact bull with consistent production, and PARISE (LARRY\/GASPARD), a 5th generation descendant of the TAILLADE breeding’s flagship line. ” This is a line of very racy, docile cows with lots of milk. At GAEC de Belinay, Charl\u00e8ne and Xavier continue the family story, which began in 1977 when Xavier’s father Andr\u00e9 took over the family herd. In 2017, Xavier took over the farm, and in 2018 built a new 95-place stall to reinforce the infrastructure. Charl\u00e8ne joined the GAEC in April 2025.
