A model of performance… in large format
9 March 2026Genoa, set and match!
In the autumn, AURIVA-Élevage rolled out GENMATCH, its new mating software dedicated to suckler breeds. Developed in close collaboration with the Union's breed experts, and tested in the field by 70 trained technicians, GENMATCH marks an important milestone: for the first time, the suckling sector now has a decision-making tool as structured, reliable and complete as those historically used in the dairy sector.
With GENMATCH, AURIVA-Élevage ushers in a new era in suckler mating
Designed to adapt to the diversity of breeding systems and objectives, and developed with the contribution of ARSOE Soual, GENMATCH centralizes in a single environment all the data needed to construct the most appropriate matings. The tool is continuously updated for the main suckler breeds: Blonde d’Aquitaine, Aubrac, Limousine, Charolaise, Gasconne…
Renewal strategy, production objectives, inbreeding management, genetic anomalies, genes of interest or even the use of sexed semen: all parameters are analyzed simultaneously by an algorithm capable of handling a level of complexity that has become virtually impossible to master manually.
“With genomics, we now have so much information at our disposal that it’s becoming very difficult to draw up a coherent plan for different breeds without digital support. GENMATCH has been designed to absorb this complexity, secure choices and make mating strategies more legible, while leaving the technician’s eye at the center of decision-making”, explains Eva Dick, engineer and GENMATCH project manager. GENMATCH doesn’t replace expertise in the field: it reinforces, supports and secures it.
An operational tool for technicians and breeders
Thanks to direct herd import, GENMATCH generates a structured mating schedule in line with breeding practices. It ranks females according to the defined strategy, suggests personalized matings, warns of bulls to be avoided, and highlights the most relevant options with regard to the breeder’s objectives.
For Maeva Seyvet, Inseminator Technician at SOGEN: “GENMATCH widens the field of possibilities by proposing bulls we wouldn’t have thought of spontaneously, while remaining technically very relevant. It allows us to be as close as possible to the breeder’s objectives and provides real flexibility for the cooperative, with the possibility of creating schedules at any time, securing the choices of technicians, including the youngest.
While relying on highly accurate data analysis, the integration of 15 phenotypic criteria also preserves all the qualitative dimension of the technician’s expertise and avoids a simple “stacking of indexes”. In addition, the offer is re-evaluated each year by the breed experts to ensure constant consistency with AURIVA’s selection guidelines and the changing expectations of breeders and the industry.
Backed by a calculation engine capable of combining genomics, morphology and the breeder’s objectives, GENMATCH is the ideal support for teams in the field, helping them to optimize farm performance whatever the context.
Romain Faure, Area Manager and Suckler Breed Technician for Coopelso, comments: “For inseminators who are new to or less familiar with suckler breeds, GENMATCH is a daily support tool. It enables the cooperative to offer each breeder a consistent and very high level of advice.
The same is true of XR Repro, where suckler technicians Benoît Boyer and Hélène Rivière hail the tool as “simple, fast and fun, centralizing all information in one place and fully customizable to each breeder’s needs”.
GENMATCH, a collective innovation for the suckling sector
With GENMATCH, AURIVA-Élevage confirms its commitment to bringing the same high standards of technology and innovation to suckling breeds as it has for many years in the dairy sector.
GENMATCH is more than just software: it’s the reflection of a collective dynamic involving field teams, breed specialists and Union cooperatives. By combining ergonomics, reliability, technical expertise and analysis power, AURIVA-Élevage provides technicians and inseminators with a tool capable of providing long-term support for suckler farms.
